Cancellation and Refund Policy

Tips are voluntary, pay-what-you-want payments for software you already have, so they are normally not refunded. Duplicate payments, and (if we ever sell a licence) a licence we could not deliver or paid software that does not work, are refunded in full. Effective 5 September 2026.

Effective date: 5 September 2026. Seller: EBITA AI PRIVATE LIMITED (brand EBITA.AI; registration number 103358, Registrar of Companies, Ernakulam), Ernakulam, Kerala, India (brand: WinBastion). This policy is written for Indian law, in particular the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and it applies to every payment made to us from anywhere in the world. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

1. Summary

Tips are voluntary payments for software you already have and are non-refundable, except: a duplicate or mistaken payment is refunded in full on request within 7 days; if we ever sell a paid licence, one we cannot deliver is refunded in full within 7 days of your request, and paid software that does not work on a supported Windows version because of a fault we cannot fix within 14 days is refunded in full.

Cancellation: there are no subscriptions to cancel. If we ever sell a one-time licence, it can be cancelled for a refund within 14 days of purchase if it has not been activated.

To request: email mustafa@ebita.ai with the transaction id and the date. Approved refunds reach the original payment method within 5–7 working days.

2. Tips

A tip (“Support the developer”, “Buy me a chai”) is a voluntary payment for software you already have and can keep using whether or not you tip. It is not a donation to a charity, not a pre-order, not a fee for a service and not a purchase of a feature. Because you already have everything the tip relates to, a tip is complete the moment it is made and is non-refundable, except in the cases in section 3. Choosing an amount is entirely yours; the suggested amounts are suggestions.

3. When a payment is refunded

3.1 Duplicate or mistaken payments

If the same tip was charged twice, if a payment page retried and charged you again, or if you typed an amount you did not intend (for example ₹2,490 instead of ₹249), tell us within 7 days of the payment and we refund the duplicate or the difference in full. We may ask for the two transaction ids to match them.

3.2 Failed delivery of a paid licence (if we ever sell one)

We currently sell no licences; every program is free and funded by tips. If we ever sell a paid licence and you paid for one but we cannot issue the licence file (for example, the email bounces and we cannot reach you, or a fault on our side prevents issuing it), the purchase is refunded in full within 7 days of your request. If a licence file simply did not arrive, write to us first: we resend it the same working day, and a refund is available if that fails.

3.3 A technical fault we cannot fix

If paid software does not work on a supported Windows version (the versions listed on its download page) because of a fault in the software, report it to us with the details in section 5. If we cannot fix it, or give you a working build, within 14 days of your report, the purchase is refunded in full. Faults caused by hardware failure, by third-party software, by unsupported Windows versions or by modifications to the software are not covered, but write to us anyway: we will try to help.

3.4 Statutory rights

Nothing here limits the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that applies to you.

4. Cancellation

No subscriptions. Nothing we sell renews or bills you again, so there is no subscription to cancel with us. If you set up a monthly tip on Ko-fi or a monthly sponsorship on GitHub Sponsors, cancel it on that platform at any time; the cancellation takes effect immediately and no further payment is taken. Payments already made are covered by section 2.

One-time licences, if we ever sell one. A paid licence may be cancelled for a full refund within 14 days of purchase if the licence file has not been activated in the program. Once activated, the licence is in use and the cancellation right ends; the refund grounds in section 3 still apply.

5. How to request a refund

Email mustafa@ebita.ai (or hello@winbastion.com) with the subject “Refund request” and include:

  • the transaction id and the date of the payment, from the receipt the payment processor emailed you (Razorpay, Cashfree, Ko-fi/PayPal, GitHub Sponsors or Stripe);
  • the amount and currency;
  • the reason (duplicate payment, licence not delivered, software fault) and, for a fault, the program version, your Windows edition and what happens.

Do not send card numbers or bank details; we do not need them and cannot use them. We acknowledge every request within 48 hours and decide it within 7 days. Where we need to check something with the payment processor, we tell you so.

6. Processing time

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method through the processor that took the payment, within 5–7 working days after approval. Once issued, the processor, the card network or your bank may take further time to show the amount on your statement: UPI refunds usually appear within a few hours, card refunds within 5–10 working days, PayPal within 3–5 working days. We cannot refund to a different account or in cash. If a refund has not appeared 15 working days after we confirmed it, write to us with the refund reference and we will trace it with the processor.

7. Removing the software

You may stop using any WinBastion program at any time. Uninstall it from Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps, select the program and choose Uninstall, or use the “Uninstall” shortcut in the Start Menu. WinBastion's uninstaller stops and removes its service; changes you applied stay as they are, so switch them off in the Applied view first if you want Windows back exactly as it was. Uninstalling is not a refund request and does not by itself refund a payment; use section 5 for that.

8. Your rights under Indian consumer law

Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 we display the seller's name, address and contact details, publish this policy before you pay, and provide a grievance officer who acknowledges complaints within 48 hours and resolves them within one month. Grievance officer: Mustafa Saidalavi, mustafa@ebita.ai, +91 99463 99946. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may approach the consumer commission with jurisdiction over your place of residence or over Ernakulam, Kerala, or use the National Consumer Helpline (1915). Consumers outside India keep the rights their local law gives them.
