NoteBastion
Local-first notes in Markdown, with attachments and no account.
NoteBastion in a paragraph
NoteBastion stores notes as plain Markdown files in a folder you choose, so they are yours in any editor twenty years from now. It adds fast search, attachments, links between notes, optional encryption for the private ones, and syncs through whatever folder-sync you already use.
Planned for the first release
- Plain Markdown files on disk; open them in any editor
- Instant full-text search and links between notes
- Attachments, images and PDFs stored next to the note
- Encrypt individual notes or notebooks with a passphrase
- Works with any folder sync (OneDrive, Dropbox, Syncthing)
- No account, no server, no subscription
This page describes what we intend to build. There is nothing to download yet, and we do not take pre-orders. When NoteBastion is ready it will be listed as available on the products page. Have a job in mind for it? Tell us through the feedback form.
What NoteBastion will and will not do
Want to know when NoteBastion is ready?
Send an email and we will reply once, when it ships. No list, no newsletter, nothing else. If you have a job in mind that NoteBastion should handle, tell us in the same message or through the feedback form. Every product is free and funded by tips from the people it helped.
